For the second consecutive year, Skechers has been named the Company of the Year by industry trade magazine Footwear Plus. This win marks the seventh time Skechers received the prestigious top award! In addition, Footwear Plus awarded Skechers the 2015 Plus Award for Excellence in Design & Retail in the Athleisure category. In previous years, we have won awards for young women’s design, women’s streetwear, kids, men’s streetwear, and running.
Skechers president Michael Greenberg commented on the accolades:
We opereate in a highly competitive industry, so being named Company of the Year for consecutive years and seven times overall is a testament to the ongoing strength of our brand along with our ability to deliver footwear that consumers around the world desire most. Merely a few short weeks after being honored by Footwear News with their Lifetime Achievement Award, Skechers CEO Robert Greenberg has been recognized once again. The website ExecRank has listed Greenberg as number 17 on its annual listing of top CEOs in the United States. Especially notable is that Greenberg was the only footwear company CEO to make the top 20 in any of the three ranked categories—Small-Cap, Mid-Cap (where Skechers was ranked) and Mega/Large-Cap.
In speaking with Footwear News about these latest accolades, Robert Greenberg stated, “[I feel] wonderful, especially considering the other successful footwear companies in our enormously challenging industry, and I was chosen. It’s because of the popularity and phenomenal growth of our brand and company over the last three years.”
As Skechers is more popular than ever in the United States and around the globe and the company is consistently recognized as a leader in the footwear industry, everyone at Skechers is proud that our chief is getting the attention he deserves as well. He will humbly tell you that success comes from the many talents of our entire team, but Skechers wouldn’t be Skechers if it wasn’t for the vision and guidance of Robert Greenberg.
Since 1992, our CEO and chairman Robert Greenberg (or “RG” as we lovingly call him) has transformed the word “Skechers” into a household name, a global powerhouse of brands for millions around the world. After a lifetime of incredible work, Footwear News honored the man this week with the Manolo Blahnik Lifetime Achievement Award, in tribute to everything that he’s achieved in the footwear industry.
Introduced by boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard for the award, Robert expressed his gratitude: “I want to thank Footwear News for their tremendous support through the years. Building this company has been a dream come true, and all of this would not be possible without the support of my family and the wonderful team I get to work with every day. I believe the brand has never looked better and the best is yet to come.”
We are so thrilled and proud of our chief for everything that he’s accomplished. Thank you, Robert, for your incredible vision – and for taking us on this thrilling ride for 23 years and counting. We can’t wait to see where you’ll take our brand next!
BOBS launched the back-to-school season with its very own cross-country tour!
We had a great time trekking east and west this fall to give more than 40,000 pairs of new shoes to students in need – partnering with some leading retailers and charities to help school districts and organizations in cities like Baltimore, Philadelphia, Lancaster PA, San Jose, Coeur d’Alene, Spokane and beyond. It was so rewarding and fun to see thousands of kids loving their new shoes and personalizing them at our decorating stations. Check out the pics below!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and every year, we look forward to releasing new product designed to honor the fight against breast cancer. This year, we’ve released a limited edition series of Skechers GOrun and Skechers GOwalk shoes along with apparel from our Skechers Performance offering.
We’re very proud to be part of this fight – to support the crucial work of the American Cancer Society, and be part of the journey that will make this tragic disease a thing of the past.
We’re excited to share with all the Lovatics out there that Demi has returned for an all-new Skechers photo shoot! After her recent fantastic “Cool for the Summer” single and video success, she’s back on-set getting started on the next phase of her ongoing Skechers campaign! We shot and filmed at a loft space in Downtown L.A.. The space was visually as cool as her hit single, but the weather brought record-breaking heat that made the shoot a bit of a struggle in the old non-air-conditioned building. But with her adorable dog Batman on set to keep her company, Demi was a trooper and we were all rewarded at the end of the day with a beautiful roof-top sunset backdrop for the final few shots.
It feels really great to support a company that I actually love and wear. I have a ridiculous amount of pairs of Skechers in my closet. What I love about these shoes is they are very, VERY comfy.
As you know, Demi Lovato has been the face of Skechers women’s footwear since last year and now you can go behind the scenes with her in this exclusive video!
