MUST-DO MONDAY: THE SUNSHINE BECKONS

1Longer days.  Warmer weather. And most importantly…springtime sunshine!  This is the season to be outside and get your necessary dosage of vitamin D.  The darkness of winter has ended, so enough with the excuses!  Each and every one of us is busy, so it’s not about finding the time.  It’s about making the time.  And it’s easier than you think.  Go for a walk when you just need to take a break from the job. Not only is a great way to clear your head, but that time outside will energize you for the rest of your day.  Eat your lunch outside.  Too many of us eat a meal at our desk or the cafeteria but it’s important to get away if only for a short time. The change of environment helps relieve stress and sun will help with your mood. Join or coach a sports team.  Transition some of your leisure activities to be outdoor-focused…it’s better than sitting at home spending even more time in front of a computer. Or if you have little ones, volunteer to coach or help out rather than dropping off the kid and running an errand.  It’s the perfect two birds with one stone scenario.  Just get outside, have fun, and feel better each day.  It really is that important.  Check out Dr. Oz for four benefits of vitamin D and don’t forget the sunscreen if you’ll be out more than 20 minutes!
