Designer: URSULA

Collections: Skechers women’s casual lifestyle brands, including Modern Comfort, women’s boots and Skechers Cali divisions

Years at Skechers: 18

________________________________________________________________________________

What is the inspiration behind this style?

I was inspired to design this boot while shopping for a big, cozy cardigan sweater to wrap around me and keep me warm… I thought it would be great to do a boot in a great sweater material to wrap your feet and legs in cozy knits.

How would you wear this style?

Over leggings or skinny jeans.

Where would you wear it?

Anywhere… for fashion or function.

What is the hottest color or trend in this collection?

There is a big woven trend right now… the sweater shaft has a woven look to it. Arctic fur and other soft tonal furs are also really popular.

Product details:

Patterns or materials on the boot?  Woven look sweater (knit) shaft, suede rand and heel to protect from weather.  Soft, tonal fur collar and upper shaft lining.

Closure details?  Rope tie-on collar with beads.

Boot lined? The upper shaft is lined with faux fur.

Comfort features? Skechers Memory Foam footbed.

DESIGNER INSIGHT: INSPIRED IN CHINA

IMG_3911

As Fall 2014 arrived, and consumers started to stock up on cozy things, Skechers’ designers were already hard at work on Fall/Winter product lines for 2015. In fact, August was the start of our Fall/Winter development season. When development kicks into high gear, we’re dispatched all over the world to find the latest obsessions and market trends.

In September, I traveled with the BOBS team to Hong Kong, Beijing and several other cities in China to get inspired. We looked for new styles, details, materials and ornaments in stores, on the streets, and on local residents. Some of the most interesting ideas were found in the most inconspicuous places, such as stores in Hong Kong that were as big as the size of a typical closet in the US. With the BOBS customer in mind, we filtered through all the findings and applied our newfound inspiration to the next generation of footwear. Expect to see lots of SPARKLES next season!

One caveat,  it was 90+ degrees out in the southern part of China when we visited in September. Can you imagine being in sweaters and furs while its that hot and humid? Trust me, it’s not easy. That’s why we had to get a little silly and let our imaginations go extra wild in order to think up new products for next year!

I can’t wait for you to see the results of our trip in 2015!

BLOG TAKEOVER: TILDEN STYLES THE LARAMIE

I’ve partnered up with Skechers to show off the versatility of their Laramie boot. As the weather cools down, durable footwear becomes a MUST when consideration of keeping your feet warm & dry comes to mind. There’s nothing worse than the misery of cold feet. However, many boots can’t live up to the functionality and aesthetic status us women need – you either get a pair that’s comfortable but ugly or drop-dead chic yet do absolutely nothing for you.

Now boots like these are not meant to be worn to a formal event but that doesn’t mean you have to resort to them for cold stricken situations only. As the typical combat boot we all love and adore, the Laramie encompasses that style but keep your feet warmer than the average combat.

Look 1:  Plaid Dressing

This look takes the best aspects of fall – when the weather is just changing and is still warm enough to sport a dress – and makes them approachable for an everyday outfit. The Laramie takes the style of the combat boot and when paired with the red plaid flannel & scarf, the dress itself takes a whole new perspective. Personally, I feel coziest in oversized tops and big scarves. Matching these favorites with a not-so-typical dress choice makes it all the more easy going.

Look 2:  Blue Collar

With high necks come multiple variations of cardigan and coat layering, which also means the art of keeping warm is of the essence. This weather also allows for the practice of making a durable ankle boot appear more sophisticated. How is this accomplished? When paired with structured & longline pieces as well as black jeans, this boot matches a more than casual style while still taking on the wear and tear of a New York minute.

Look 3:  Denim Approach

I live for casual days and when I can dress relaxed, it’s all the better. Comfort and chic don’t always go hand in hand, so it’s important to match structure opposite to oversized on top/bottom. These boots work as great substitutes for my everyday flats, completely covering my foot and allowing for a wool sock to peek out – a fall trend many of us like to indulge in with our boots of choice.

BLOG TAKEOVER: CASSY STONE’S FALL STYLE TIPS

Look 1: Baby, it’s cold outside!

These understated Mad Dash – Test Drive booties are the perfect complement to your new favorite sweater. As the temps drop, people tend to dress in so many layers that they completely overwhelm their figures. As a rule of thumb: the fluffier and chunkier the knit is on top, the more important it is for your outfit to stay sleek on the bottom. By wearing pants in the exact color or a shade close to that of your shoes, you create an elongated, streamlined effect with your legs. Sometimes, the best way to make a statement with your shoes is to have them blend in!

Look 2: Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

While these boots can be the quiet harmony to your ensemble, sometimes you need a little chic discord to shake things up. The versatility of the Mad Dash – Test Drive bootie is the perfect way to add some edge to playful floral prints. The stud and buckle boot detail mixed with a girly dress in a deep, warm color scheme is a no-fail recipe for fashionable fall flair. Accent your look with a few accessories in a matching metallic color scheme. (Hint: rose gold is the next big thing!)

Look 3: Model Off Duty

Not only do these boots look amazing dressed up, but they’re sure to cause some major shoe-envy when they’re seen dressed down. In this more casual look, you can play up the toughness of the Mad Dash – Test Drive bootie by throwing on a huge t-shirt dress. A patterned flannel artfully tied around your waist is a great way to accent your figure, preventing you from losing your shape underneath all the baggy fabric. Slightly messy hair + “I woke up like this” attitude = an effortlessly stylish look that’ll turn the heads of everyday girls and fashion mavens alike. How does she do it?

STYLES &TRENDS: Sporty Trainers in France

Charisse_photo 2During PARIS Fashion Week for FW14, a woman wearing a Carven coat, fitted trousers and a Celine bag could only be a fashion addict. But what makes this outfit is the sneakers on her feet. Not designer styles with precious details and printed leathers, but real running shoes, first degree, directly from an athlete or jogger’s dressing. The girl is not coming back from the gym and doesn’t have a fitness mat in her office. It’s her “off-duty” style, an expression for taxi drivers, officers and top models on their casual days. Look at models’ blogs, and you’ll see hordes of them in these popular sneakers.

Get the look in Skechers: With a range of bright and light shoes featuring SKECHERS Memory Foam, find the perfect accessory for your “off-duty” look!
