BOBS Partners with Shoe Carnival and K.I.D.S./ Fashion Delivers to Give Back in Puerto Rico and Lubbock

We recently partnered with Shoe Carnival and K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers to donate new shoes to students in need across Puerto Rico and Lubbock, Texas. More than 13,000 pairs of BOBS from Skechers were distributed at a series of special end of school year events. That makes over 57,000 shoes donated to date with Shoe Carnival alone and overall more than eight million pairs since BOBS launched in 2011. Everywhere we went, the kids were excited and had a chance to decorate and personalize their new shoes. These local events truly exemplify the power of the BOBS movement and illustrate the power we have to create positive impact on the world around us. Check out the video to catch a heartwarming look at what happened.

BOBS Gives Back in Santa Rosa

On May 16, BOBS from SKECHERS traveled to Santa Rosa, California to donate 1,000 pairs of shoes to the children of Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, Head Start/Early Head Start, and School Readiness programs in Sonoma County. Children gathered to receive a pair of BOBS and even had a chance to decorate them! The inspired and excited kids were able to use their imagination to create fun, personalized, fresh-looking shoes. BOBS Santa Rosa event

We love when our events inspire others to reach out to their community. In Santa Rosa, one local dentist joined in on the philanthropy by donating toothbrushes to the youth. No matter the product or event, we appreciate those who seek to create positive change in the world. That is why we want to say thank you to all the BOBS supporters! Whether you’re purchasing another pair of BOBS or simply giving back in your own way, we could not reach the milestone of more than 8 million pairs donated worldwide without your help.

BOBS GIVES BACK WITH 27,000-PAIR DONATION IN FLORIDA

This Spring, SKECHERS is partnering with Bealls department stores and Fashion Delivers/K.I.D.S. to donate 27,000 pairs of BOBS shoes throughout Pensacola, Florida. The first giveaway launched on January 24 with a donation event for 350 children in need hosted by Children’s Home Society of Florida. The afternoon included shoe decorating activities, music, snacks and a special visit from characters who posed for fun photos with the children. In the coming months, Children’s Home Society will continue to distribute BOBS shoes across the Pensacola region.

Thank you to all our customers who have purchased BOBS. This simple act is helping thousands of children in need across the U.S.  Because of you, we have also reached more than six million pairs of shoes donated worldwide!

BOBS CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT

BOBS from SKECHERS embraced the holiday spirit of giving with three shoe donation events during the month of December!

The first was in SKECHERS’ backyard (Los Angeles, California) on December 14 with the Baby2Baby charitable organization. Children and families in need were invited to attend Baby2Baby’s third annual Holiday Party where they received gifts and a new pair of BOBS shoes to decorate.  Santa Claus made an appearance as well, and children enjoyed holiday crafts, treats and music, plus a complimentary lunch with their families.

Next, we traveled across the U.S. for two BOBS donation events in New Orleans.  Teaming up with BOBS retail partner Shoe Carnival, volunteers visited the Slidell-Pearl River Head Start organization for a holiday donation event on December 16.  Santa Claus made a surprise appearance, and children received new pairs of SKECHERS socks and school supplies with their BOBS shoes.

And finally, a visit to Kingsley House in New Orleans, a charitable organization that has been serving the community since 1896.  Children received BOBS shoes to decorate, plus new socks, school supplies and another surprise visit from Santa.  In total, 2,400 pairs of new shoes were distributed in New Orleans through our BOBS charitable partner Fashion Delivers.

We’re looking forward to even more BOBS donation events in 2014 – stay tuned!

SKECHERS’ Donation of BOBS Footwear for Kids in Need Surpasses Three-Million-Pair Mark

Just five months after reaching its first million-pair donation milestone, BOBS from SKECHERS today announced that it has donated more than three million pairs of new shoes for children in need worldwide. With a new pair going to a child in need for every pair of BOBS purchased, BOBS has expanded its donation network to include nearly 30 countries around the globe, with a focus on helping distressed families across the United States.

“The word is out about BOBS, and its growing success means that we can give more pairs than ever. We are pleased that we are able to get shoes in the hands of American families struck by financial hardship, those affected by natural disasters, including Superstorm Sandy, and many children in need around the world,” said Michael Greenberg, president of SKECHERS. “We’re so excited to be part of this movement of giving, and to help as many kids as we can. Through the continued support of socially conscious consumers, we believe we can make an even larger impact.”

BOBS unites people with a single goal: to help the approximately 300 million children worldwide in need of shoes due to poverty, epidemics and natural disasters. With the support of its non-profit giveaway partners, BOBS distributes to charitable organizations, homeless shelters, education programs and non-profit groups across the Americas, Africa, Eastern Europe, and mainland and Southeast Asia – and plans to continue expanding the program on a global scale.

Designed for women, men and kids, BOBS is supported by Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet in a global awareness campaign across print, television, online and social media. You can find BOBS in stores nationwide, and in key markets around the world.
