We’re thrilled to announce that the world’s most famous drummer—Ringo Starr—will be bringing his legendary talents and style to SKECHERS where he’s set to appear in the global marketing campaign for our SKECHERS Relaxed Fit footwear.
Ringo’s campaign will kick off with a new television spot that follows the humorous tone that has become a signature of our popular series of Relaxed Fit footwear commercials. Up until now, the series has focused on celebrities from the sports world including Joe Namath and Pete Rose, as well as Mariano Rivera in ads coming early next year. Now we’re shifting to the music world and we can’t wait for everyone to see how Ringo’s charm and cool charisma makes him the perfect ambassador for Relaxed Fit.
After more than a half century in the music industry, Ringo has released 17 solo albums and continues to tour the globe with his All Starr Band. Ringo is also known for his philanthropy and his involvement with the anti-violence #peacerocks campaign through the David Lynch Foundation being one recent example that led to his winning at the GQ Men of the Year Awards for his humanitarian work.
You’ll have to wait until Spring to see Ringo’s SKECHERS campaign, but stay tuned for more details in the months ahead!

Celebrity host Ellen K of On Air with Ryan Seacrest will join TV personality Brooke Burke-Charvet and Hall of Fame baseball manager Tommy Lasorda at the event – along with X-Factor’s Season 3 trio, Sweet Suspense. We’re aiming to top last year’s $1 million donation milestone by teaming up with Steel Sports for the new #P2PSteelSports Selfie Challenge: Steel Sports will donate $5 for every walk selfie posted! Since its start, the SKECHERS Pier to Pier Friendship Walk has raised nearly $4 million for schools and The Friendship Circle, which supports children with special needs. Over the years , we’ve done all that we can to ensure that Skechers is an active member of the Manhattan Beach, CA community that we’ve called home since the company was established in 1992. Skechers has raised over $750,000 so far towards this year’s million-dollar goal for the upcoming annual Skechers Pier-to-Pier Friendship Walk benefiting local children with special needs and education. And with sponsorships of big events like Halloween Pumpkin Races and the hugely popular Holiday Fireworks, everyone at Skechers is proud to give back and support our hometown. We were humbled and honored when the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce named Skechers as winner of the 2014 Best of Manhattan award. Skechers was selected from a list of nominees that included the Manhattan Beach Marriott, Manhattan Beach Toyota, MBS Media Campus, and the Simms Restaurant Group—all fantastic businesses that work tirelessly for the community. Skechers president Michael Greenberg expressed gratitude for the recognition when he delivered remarks at an awards ceremony held on October 2, 2014.

Skechers also supports causes within the footwear industry community. The Two Ten Footwear Foundation in association with Women In the Footwear Industry LA recently hosted an event called “Leading Ladies” that featured Kathy Kartalis, SVP-Global Product for Skechers, on a panel discussion about management style. Over 30 women from Skechers HQ attended the forum to support Kathy and network with peers within the industry.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Skechers is joining the American Cancer Society in the fight to end breast cancer. The extensive work of the Society for people with breast cancer today is helping to find an end for the disease tomorrow. Support from Skechers will help the American Cancer Society continue to invest in ground breaking research, provide comprehensive support to people diagnosed with breast cancer, and advocate for laws that ensure access for women who need them so more lives are saved. Skechers is also a sponsor of the Making Strides Walk event in San Francisco on October 25.
There will be several ways to show your support for the cause with Skechers throughout October. A program in Skechers retail stores this month will allow you to round up purchases to the nearest dollar with the change going straight to the American Cancer Society. And at the forefront of our efforts is the limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness footwear and apparel collection from the Skechers Performance Division. Designed with signature pink colors, the collection includes workout athletic wear and four popular and comfortable walking and running styles: the slip-on Skechers GOwalk 2, the lace-up Skechers GOwalk 2 Flash, Skechers GOrun Sprint, and the award-winning Skechers GOrun 3. These styles will only be available for a short time so pick up a pair and wear them in honor of someone you know fighting this disease.

Look 1: Baby, it’s cold outside!
These understated Mad Dash – Test Drive booties are the perfect complement to your new favorite sweater. As the temps drop, people tend to dress in so many layers that they completely overwhelm their figures. As a rule of thumb: the fluffier and chunkier the knit is on top, the more important it is for your outfit to stay sleek on the bottom. By wearing pants in the exact color or a shade close to that of your shoes, you create an elongated, streamlined effect with your legs. Sometimes, the best way to make a statement with your shoes is to have them blend in!
Look 2: Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice
While these boots can be the quiet harmony to your ensemble, sometimes you need a little chic discord to shake things up. The versatility of the Mad Dash – Test Drive bootie is the perfect way to add some edge to playful floral prints. The stud and buckle boot detail mixed with a girly dress in a deep, warm color scheme is a no-fail recipe for fashionable fall flair. Accent your look with a few accessories in a matching metallic color scheme. (Hint: rose gold is the next big thing!)
Look 3: Model Off Duty
Not only do these boots look amazing dressed up, but they’re sure to cause some major shoe-envy when they’re seen dressed down. In this more casual look, you can play up the toughness of the Mad Dash – Test Drive bootie by throwing on a huge t-shirt dress. A patterned flannel artfully tied around your waist is a great way to accent your figure, preventing you from losing your shape underneath all the baggy fabric. Slightly messy hair + “I woke up like this” attitude = an effortlessly stylish look that’ll turn the heads of everyday girls and fashion mavens alike. How does she do it?

Can you imagine life without any cars on our streets? Today, people around the world are taking one big step in that direction: leaving their cars at home in favor of a stroll, bike ride, skateboard or public transport for World Carfree Day. For those of us who can’t imagine living without our vehicles, Carfree Day is a great way to challenge ourselves and see how we can get around in a new way – all while getting some good exercise (and soaking in more of our surroundings). It also reminds our cities and towns to make alternative modes of transportation a bigger priority, so our streets can be more inviting for all.
Have a great carfree day today… and happy roads ahead.
When the BOBS from SKECHERS program began in 2011, we wanted to do what we could to help children that needed footwear. We never expected it to become the hugely successful movement that it is today. Three short years later and we’ve crossed the NINE MILLION PAIR milestone! It’s truly incredible and we’re humbled by the impact that this program has had on children around the world. While we’re proud of the achievement, our mission continues with ongoing donation events. In fact, two events this past week in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Evansville, Indiana, resulted in over 1,200 more kids receiving a new pair of shoes. Check out the pictures from the events as we march onward to 10 million pairs donated and beyond!
